Review: This shampoo worked up a nice lather and cleansed A's scalp very well. It has a nice, light smell. It didn't "wow" me but no shampoo really does. I think I will repurchase if I can find it on sale again.

Review: After easily rinsing out Giovanni Smooth as Silk Shampoo I loaded A's hair up with Giovanni Smooth as Silk Conditioner. When I say loaded, I mean loaded! I think I used half of the bottle. This conditioner is very thick. In my opinion, it didn't have the best slip but overall it was a nice conditioner. I left this in A's hair for about 20-30 minutes with a plastic cap, added a little more water on her hair and began the detangling process. Detangling could have been easier, I think I should have added some virgin coconut oil. I was really impressed with how A's hair looked the next day though. In their claim, they say: "Calms unruly hair to alleviate frizz. Increases shine while smoothing dry or damaged hair." and I have to agree. A's hair was soft, shiney, and had very little frizz. Her curls really popped. I think this is best used as a deep conditioner. Since I used so much of it, I will only buy this if I can catch it on sale again.

I put about a quarter size amount of Giovanni Direct Leave-in in her hair, and the picture posted above shows what her hair looked like on Day 2 after I put it in pigtails.

Overall, I think the Giovanni Smooth as Silk Shampoo & Conditioner are good products. You can purchase these at any drugstore such as Riteaid, Walgreens, etc. You can also find them at stores like Ulta, Target, & Walmart. Browse around and look at weekly ads first, you may be able to find a great deal.

  4. I use the conditioner from time to time. I didn't have the best results with the leave in, but the conditioner is good for when I am between online orders.

  5. I just tried the Smooth As Silk conditioner too; it really does do what it claims. I got it for BOGO at Rite Aid as well (they were having such a good sale on their hair products 2 weeks ago, I bought so much conditioner!)

And A's hair is cute as always!

  11. i purchased some of the Giovanni Direct leave in conditioner to trial but i was actually dissapointed with the results.. i followed the instructions as per the bottle mind you i used it soley by itself.. but it left Amirahs hair with a straw like texture and slightly flaky residue afterwards.. i deffinatley wouldn't purchase it again.. just my opinion anyway.. and i know not everything works the same on everyone's hair...
