Q.O.T.W: Do you have Summer hair plans?

Photobucket

School is out for the Summer! (for us anyway) Between swimming, playing outside, riding bikes (helment, of course) we are going to be quite active. I will be coming up with a Summer routine for A very soon, so...

Do you have any Summer hair plans? Maybe a Summer routine? Do tell!

  3. I am doing lots of brads, twists and banded ponies. I love the new style you did on A, hopefully I can do that this week or next. It's already crazy hot in VA so anything that will stay for awhile and deal with the pool. :)

  7. Box braids for Rakiya, since I'm working on learning how to do cornrows. We will be in swim class and in the lake swimming, or getting wet from the rain in WA.

  11. Box Braids...better for camp, swimming & my kids visiting their gran in hawaii (she has no idea how to do multiracial curly hair, so braids are a help to her). box braids are super simple to maintain & dress up that my 3 girls will be wearing them until the 1st day of school. I will redo them every 2 weeks and also wash/co-wash after every swim, which should be every other day. their hair will get moisturized everyday, and if it's super hot out then, it'll be moisturized at night too. my son will sport his mohawk = super simple.

  12. We plan on keeping it simple and continuing the protective style challenge for the entire summer and weekly cowashes. Right now I'm still trying to figure out what else we are going to do. If something else comes to mind, I'll post it.

  15. I will keep my daughter's hair cornrowed or box braids for the summer, co-washing every week and moisturizing daily. Very convenient, yet cute styles.

  16. We just had a newborn and I'll have my hands full. DH leaves for work early and gets back late and DD's hair has to be done at least every other day. She'll be sporting a lot of loose styles. She'll probably need a trim in July and another in September :(

  17. I'm thinking about braids (all types) and extra moisturizing, still wash once a week and deep condition once a week instead of every two weeks. I get my bee mine products soon and I'm soo ready to see how they are going to work on my girls hair.

  18. I just put some Senegalese Twists in my hair which will probably be my summer 'do to aid in my transition to natural. I did them myself so I can touch them up when needed. Kurly T will be sporting all types of braids and cornrow styles. I think we'll even finally try some sister twists to see how they hold up. I'm really feeling the Bee Mine and Mixed Chicks so I think they've become our new staples. This is the summer for trying new things!

  19. I will try to keep it nice and simple with various types of braids and ponys. I'll also try to change up the styles so they won't be so plain.

  20. The first week she will wear her natural curls or 2 strand twist to give her hair and scalp a break from cornrows. Then we will do box braids for 2-4weeks. Then she will alternate between cornrows, ponytails, two strand twist and her natural curls. I will wash, condition, and deep condition her hair as needed.

  21. The routine will basically be the same as far as washing and conditioning it. But I plan on trying a couple of the products that you've reviewed such as Curly Q's and Bee Mine. My two year old girl has medium length hair, and i have been practicing my cornrowing. I'm going to do styles that last for 1-2 weeks, and otehr times I may do styles that alow me to restyle every other day.

I plan on making a written schedule of hair styles and buying new barrettes, beads, making bows, and getting an organizing system going on, because I'm using plastic grocery bags for everything, lol.

  22. I said that I'd keep the same washing/conditioning plan, but my daughter's hair gets very, very dry. I need to find something that will keep it moisturized, soft, and not crispy-feeling.

  23. What does hair look like after is has been treated?
I have very curly hair will Keratin Treatment give me straight hair?

  24. No special plans as of yet. Q's hair is finally getting long enough that I can try braiding it at night, which should help with the frizz! I might try some box braids over the summer but nothing stays in very long for us yet, so really just more of the same :)

  25. We have no idea, just gonna go with the flow lol.

  26. When summer was in here and Amirah was swimming prior to her going to her once a week swimming lessons i used to take down her style and put it in one simple puff.. so as soon as she was finished i'd come home and wash her hair straight away and then treat it with a deep conditioner.. i was too scared of the chlorine ruining her hair to leave it with just a simple wash out.
