What can you find at Walmart?

I went to Walmart today to pick up some of those Goody Ouchless Ponytail holders, unfortunately, I couldn't find the particular ones I was looking for so I settled for some Faded Glory ones that were very similar, I don't think anything compares to the Goody brand but I will keep you posted!

So what can you find at Walmart?

Loads and Loads of Goody products! They have the cutest things for girls.

More Goody! Hair flowers, headbands, clips, beads, barrettes, etc.

Even more Goody

Lots of cute hair stuf! Clips, bows, etc.

Headbands

Beads!!! 2300 beads! They are actually craft beads but work just as good (so I've heard) and look just as cute. This was $12, how can you beat that? I'll be buying this next time I go back.

More beads!

Bead storage. This was $8!

A bun maker, if you don't want to do the sock method.

So what did I end up buying?

Well I bought the Faded Glory pontail holders, similar to Goody.

I also bought the bead organizer, Herbal Essence Hello Hydration conditioner ($5 for the big thing) some plastic caps, a storage drawer, and a satin bonnet. Stay tuned!

By the way, as most of you know, this is a very small glimpse into Walmart, they have much more than this!

  1. Oh my goodness! Where do you LIVE?! Your Wal-mart has SO much more hair stuff than mine does. I've never seen beads at mine & we have a much smaller section for hair bows & accessories...I'm coming to your Wal-Mart lol.

At my Wal-mart though, I do get the coconut oil I use on our hair & have seen the Aloe Vera Gel but have yet to pick it up.

I also buy HEHH from there & that's pretty much it as far as products go.

  3. I TOTALLY AGREE WITH NICHOLLE C.!!!! We don't have anything even close to what I see here in the walmarts out here in San Diego!

  4. Meijers also has most of the Goody products!!! We have a Meijer and Walmart right around the corner from each other and I have found that Meijer's selection tends to be better stocked (and too many people are at Walmart 24/7 :)

  5. I use those faded glory pony tail holders. They do stretch a bit but other than that they are good. And I agree with the previous poster, your walmart has way more stuff than ours!

  6. Our Walmart is a smaller one but they have hair items mixed in with the girls/toddler/baby clothing. They had some really cute hair stuff this spring in the toddler/baby clothing section. So if you can't find something in the hair section, check by the kids' clothes.

  8. I just bought the bead organizer last week! I originally had the beads in ziploc bags seperated by color. I was so excited to come across the organizer. I use one of the compartments in the organizer to hold the rubberbands, the black ones and the colored ones. I also bought one of those bags of beads in assorted colors in the same aisle. I think they're for arts and crafts but they do work just as good, if anything better. Those beads are a lil bigger so you can use them on thicker braids, twists, etc. I also learned that night, the beads I bought glow in the dark! lol..My daughter got a kick out of that...lol..but the organizer is def a must have.

  9. Whoa, our minds were totally on the same page today. My family hit up Walmart earlier today because I needed Tylenol, lol, and we bought a ton of girl's ponytail holders, mini butterfly clips and clip barettes from Faded Glory (I love the pastel butterfly clip barretts we got--you have them pictured above), headbands from Goody and some $1 bandanas for my son. A mini-impressive haul, plus the Tylenol for my self, lol.

BTW, I use the Walmart kraft beads in hair and they work the same as ones from the local bss and also tend to have less seams or deformed pieces than the ones at the local bss.

And, I'm another poster with a local Walmart--while being one of the super huge expanded ones--that still has girl hair stuff is still tucked in with girl/toddler clothing and with only about 4 racks.

  10. Lucky! Looks like your Walmart has much more hair products than any of the stores near me! BTW I wanted to thank you for saving me $ today. I went to The Vitamin Shoppe to restock our shampoo, conditioner, and leave ins. Thanks!!!

  11. BTW, how do you construct a bun maker using a sock (the sock method that you referred to)? Thanks.

  12. I live in Utah and am struggling to find some cute pony beads (they have a much larger hole so can be used on bigger braids/twists). I found a few online but VERY limited selection. Any ideas?

  14. You have like the Mega Walmart, lol. Great tip on the beads in the craft section. I'll have to see what mine has to offer. Love this post!

  15. Your Walmart is nice in that it looks like everything is pretty well grouped together. I hadn't really looked closely at the beads in the craft section.

I think my Walmart has all that, but you have to go to various areas of the store - some is in the hair section, some in the girls, some in the toddler section, etc.

  20. Wow. I knew my local Wal-Mart was lacking, but this really puts it to shame, lol. Even the small amount of hair accessories they do carry are usually out of stock. =(

I had those ponytail holders (probably the same brand, with different packaging) and they knotted up around my daughter's hair like crazy. So much breakage and so many tangles. I cut more than a few out to save her hair... I purchased the Goody Ouchless ones, afraid after my previous experience, and they were awesome. I actually started using them on my hair too, lol.

  21. WOW, I wish the walmart in my town had this much stuff especially the beads because I've been thinking about letting my girls where braids all summer. I guess I will have to go to a near by and bigger town to see if they have more.

  22. I like the bead organizer. I almost bought one of those at Wal-Mart this weekend, but I wasn't sure if it would hold enough beads. I will definitely have to go back and get a few because it really looks like it could be helpful. Also, a good place to look for beads is at a crafts store. My oldest daughter is really into sports so I bought her some basketball beads. :)

  23. NOW I KNOW WHY MY WALMART DOESN'T HAVE "ENOUGH STUFF" BECAUSE YOU HAVE IT ALL AT YOUR WALMART! NO FAIR! :-0 YOU ARE A SHOPPER AFTER MY OWN HEART!
