Bead Organizer

If you remember my Organizing Hair Accessories post then you know I kept A's beads in ziplock baggies, which worked great. Well, if you saw my recent Walmart post then you know I picked up one of those craft organizers they sell. It was only $8 (actually $7 and some change) so I thought why not? I was hesitant because I never really liked the look of them, I thought the ziplock baggies looked better. Well, I was wrong! I love this bead organizer. I actually had to go back and buy another one because A had a lot more beads than I thought. Each organizer comes with 18 compartments, and you can make the compartments bigger/smaller if you want.

I put most of her plain beads in one, then put her bigger beads, heart beads, star beads, crown beads and snaps in another. I had to take some of the white beads out because they were overflowing. I definitely plan on buying about 3 (or more) more of these organizers for more beads, her barrettes, and ballies. I hope to have a new accessory set up for her complete sometime this Summer. Stay tuned!

By the way, she loved helping me separate all of the beads!

How are you organizing your hair accessories lately? Anything new?

  1. I love this idea! I too am using a ziploc bag for both my daughter's beads & barrettes. I use a old buttoned onesie case for her hair balls.

  2. I have those! I love them, except for the few times they have fallen off the counter and beads have gone everywhere. Then, not so much.

  3. I have these!! I just have 2 right now, but I have one for beads & one for ball things/click-clacks/bo-bo's/whatever you want to call them lol...

I don't have nearly as many hair things as you & have 2 girls to your 1! lol

  4. I make jewlery, and I picked up some great storage containers at Harbor Freight for my beads. My favorite one has little individual containers inside, to really keep the colors separate and so I can just pull out what I need for that days projects.

I can't find that specific container online, but if you have one near you, you should check it out. They have great prices.

  5. I have something similar to that, from walmart :) But I actually am going to look for something else sometime... Q is still young enough that she really doesn't see the value in keeping them organized! and LOVES to play with them. Which equals a lot of picking up! (See my post from today! lol It's pretty cute!)

I'm thinking something with compartments that can be opened individually... :)

  6. WOW thanks for sharing, it is great you can make the compartments smaller or bigger. I am going to have to purchase a few of these because we have a lot of hair acessories and I have been looking for something that I can use to store them all and organization them by color.

  7. Hey I have those (4) and just ordered some more beads, butterflies, crowns, hearts, and clear ones. I need some more, sadly I do not have a Walmart here. I think 'm gonna go to Ikea and get some there.
Here is my little girl helping me "putting them back where they belong" after getting them off.

  8. I need to get some of these! I use ziplock bags for our hair supplies, and I am kind of sick of it. How do you store headbands and such?

  13. I wish I could still do all the diff color beads in my daughters hair :( She is almost 9 and doesn't want them, lol. Beads are now made into bracelets around here, they are kept in 1 bin - no more color separation...

  16. I just came up with another idea because I saw similar organizers at walmart but they where a little cheaper and I think a tad bit bigger in the fishing/sporting goods area I'm thinking about trying those out and if I can find a plain looking tackle box which I will have to glam up but it works when you have a lot of different accessories

  19. I have about 6 of this type of organizer...but the ones we have you can not change the size of the compartments....we also have one of those caboodle boxes and that holds barettes and the heair balls. Then I have one of those plastic sterlite tower things that has 4 drawers...2 small ones and 2 big ones...4 of the organizers are in the bottom (big)drawer, the other big drawer has grease, moisturizer, gel, shampoo, etc. and the 2 small drawers have combs and brushes, rubber bands, and also unopened hair balls/barettes
