Review: I actually sprayed a little of the Moist Curls Moisturizer in my hand, then applied it to each section of A's hair. Review: Finally, I applied Curl Gel-les'c to each section of A's hair. I only needed a small drop for each section. I am absolutely in love with Curl Gel-les'c! You may remember my review I did a while back on a small sample size of this product. A has gotten some of the best frizz free, defined curls from Gel-les'c.

Before & Afters:

In her before pictures I had taken down 5 big "bed time" braids. If you would like to see what her hair looks like washed, detangled, with no product left in, go here

In the picture below, she was swinging her hair back and forth, you can really see how defined and frizz free her curls were.

I am definitely impressed with Curly Q's. A's hair is soft, moisturized, and frizz free. She has volume, but not "too" much volume. Just fun, bouncy curls! Everything smells absolutely amazing! I think the prices are reasonable, especially considering you don't need much of any of the above products. A little goes a long way. I can see several of the above full size products lasting several months. I really wasn't sure how much I would like Curly Q's. I thought it would be too light for A's 4A curl type but that is not the case. I am loving it. If you would like to purchase Curls, Curly Q's, or It's-a-Curl products you can visit their website.

  1. Great review...I always like your before and after pics, it really helps to see the effect of the product.

I love the Curls line! Tia has a mix of 3c/4a hair and we have been using the Curly Q products since she was about 11 months - so nearly 2 years now. You're right, a little goes a long way. Shampoo does last for months in our house.

For Tia's hair, custard works better than milkshake - I highly recommend it! If she has her hair loose, I like to use a few sprays of moisturizer and a small amount of custard whenever I need to freshen it - in the morning, after a nap, etc, and it makes her curls look so defined and shiny.

If I am doing a style, then I use Curls Princess Glaze on each section immediately before braiding/cornrowing. It keeps it moisturized and shiny, but has good hold so it keeps the style longer and it's not too slippery so I can still work with the hair after I put it on. I will have to try the Gel-es'c, I haven't tried that one yet.

  2. Wonderful review! I love the milkshake for Danasia's hair. I've heard great things about the Gel-es'c. I need to try that soon. And I think I'm going to start the It's a Curl line for my little man.

  3. Ok I've been wanting to try these products and now you've convinced me. Kyndal's hair is similar to A's from the looks of the pics. I'm working on retaming some of her curls throughtout her head. With Terri's method its coming along. But I'm seriously going to order the Curly-Q and try it. GREAT REVIEW!!

  4. Great review...I purchased the Curlie Cutie Cleansing Cream for my daughter, and I love it!! It smells wonderful and cleans without stripping. Just like you, I thought it would be too light (even though my baby's hair isn't as thick as A's), but it worked fine. Your review is making me want to go out and buy the entire line now!! (Im such a PJ lol) :)

  5. I love the before and after pictures. Just wanted to know was this review based on the first time you used the products or have you used it more than once? Also, did you feel you had to use all the products or can you do without one or another? Thanks

  7. Thanks so much for all of the comments everyone! For those of you who ordered, I'm pretty confident that you will like it! I did a review on a curl gel-les'c sample I got a while back and really liked it. It was a small sample, so I was iffy, but she got 3 days of great curls out of that small sample! Very surprising. I posted pics. I'll post the link again for you all along with the link to get the free sample.

OH, And ladies, the day after doing this review, A's curls looked amazing!!! I couldn't stop staring at them. And she is a wild sleeper! Like I said, I'm really impressed. Her curls really popped.

@Notthecoolmom, thank you! I used the curl gel-les'c before (small sample) and loved it. Like I said above, she got day THREE hair from the gel-les'c. That has never happened. The other products I just reviewed, this was a first time use. I do plan on trying them again. I would like to try the Milkshake alone, it's really light so I'm not sure if it would have a lot of hold on A's curls (but it is moisturizing!) by its self, but layered with the Gel-les'c it worked great. I highly recommend the Gel-les'c, once this runs out I am ordering. I also want to add, I styled A's hair today in small box braids (will post pics soon) and after I was done I put some Gel-les'c in my hands, then rubbed it on top of her hair to hold down some of her frizz, and I still pretty much have a full size 2oz sample of this stuff! I mean it goes a LONG way! Once I order the full size, I think it will last me several months. Maybe 6 months or so.

Any questions feel free to ask ladies!! Email me if you would like! beadsbraidsbeyond@yahoo.com

Ok sorry for any typos, I'm sleepy. Off to bed! <3 yall!
