Criss Cross Cornrows Update

Photobucket

A has had her Criss Cross Cornrow Layers in for 9 days now. She swam a few times last week and each time we cowashed with Herbal Essence Hello Hydration conditioner after she was done swimming. After 9 days, her cornrows are quite frizzy so I decided to split her hair into two sections and put them in pigtails. I gathered the braids in three sections and braided them. I used Gymboree accessories to match her outfits and ended each braid with a cute little frog clip. I applied a little Bee Mine Curly Butter to the ends of both braids and twirled them around my finger a bit. Although her hair is very frizzy, she received a ton of compliments on her hair today.

Next time your child's hair style becomes frizzy, try switching up the look a bit. I don't find it necessary to take a style down as soon as it becomes frizzy.

  1. I really love your site. I check it everyday for new styles and ideas. Thanks to you I'm a lot more patient with my daughters hair, which is a similar texture, esp when combing out and detangling. Hopefully we'll see growth as a result.
I really want to try the BeeMine products, but I don't live in the US, so have limited access to products. What do you think of the KinkyKurly line? That's available here as well as Miss Jessie's. Have you done a product review on either of these lines?

  4. Very pretty. I hear you, just because there's some frizz does not mean take down and redo.....besides that will lead to too much manipulation. The hair does need some well deserved rest.

  5. This is cute :). Everytime I see A's hairstyles, it makes me want to play in my own daughter's hair. They still look nice even after 9 days. I cannot wait to get better at braiding. My cornrows look ok. I don't have enough skill to be considered good...yet.
