Your fingers!
I know! So simple, right?
Unfortunately, many people (sometimes including myself) often skip this step.
When you wet your childs hair and load it up with conditioner, you probably automatically take a wide tooth comb to it. The thing is, the comb does not remove the tangles like your fingers would. The comb just rips through the tangles, causing a lot of unneccassary breakage.
So I am taking a pledge. From now on I will detangle her hair with my fingers first before using a wide tooth comb.
I, Nikki, pledge to always remove tangles from A's hair with my fingers before using a wide tooth comb.
Just copy what I said, and add your comment with your name and your childs name.
Remember, if you take the pledge, you must stick with it or else we will have to find you and do kung fu! :)
I, Mz. Dimples, pledge to always remove tangles from my 4 boys hair before using a wide tooth comb.
ReplyDeleteI do detangle this way but not as much as I should. This came in handy since wash day is Tuesday. I will have to use way more conditioner than usual.
Thanks Nikki

ReplyDeleteI didn't really think this way worked but I swear to do it from here on out! =)
As a curly haired girl, I rarely use a comb or pick. Just my fingers in the shower. (I have 3a/3b hair so that's different than 4a or 4b but I literally used lose tons of hair by combing it with a pick in the shower. Now I have thinning hair and am wishing I would have been kinder to my hair when I was in high school/college.)
ReplyDeleteFor some reason I can't view the video.

ReplyDeleteI just learned this "trick" last week thanks to a friend. It was so much easier on Halley when I used my fingers. Her hair was very tangled and it would have been as hard to untangle as wrestling 2 gorrillas in a phonebooth if I hadn't used my fingers first!
