Hi everyone!
I know it's been a while. There have been so many changes going on in my life lately that I don't even know where to begin!
Let me first start by saying I'm sure most of you noticed our Beads, Braids & Beyond Facebook page is gone. I don't know why. I don't know how. It has saddened me and I was quite depressed over it. I wasn't even sure if I wanted to make another one but I did. We're nowhere near our 40k + likes but I know with your help we can get there. Please go like the new page www.facebook.com/BeadsBraidsBeyond and share it with your friends. Thank you so much!
I guess I'll just cut to the chase, Miss A's 7th birthday was last week. After work I took her to a new game room where we live and she had a blast. It was nice just spending some 1-on-1 mother/daughter time. I got a new job a couple of months ago so time has been limited. We try to enjoy every moment we have now that's for sure!
The next day I was at work and received a call. Miss A had just had a seizure. Many of you know Miss A was diagnosed with epilepsy last Spring. Read more about that here. I grabbed my keys, eyes full of tears and rushed out the door. As I was in a hurry driving to the hospital, the ambulance was rushing her to the emergency room. Once I arrived, she was sleeping. She gets very sleepy after having a seizure, which seems to be pretty common.

Miss A was in the hospital for 4 days. They did an MRI and a 24 hour video EEG. The MRI results were normal. The EEG was abnormal, which was to be expected. The neurologist said she had about 6 "starring spells" or "mini seizures" within the first 2 1/2 hours which can easily go unnoticed as they only last about 10 seconds each. He increased her medication so we're home now and hoping and praying for the best.
I'd like to take a moment to thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers. We truly appreciate it!

I pray that the lord will place his healing hand on your daughter and keep her protected.
ReplyDeleteI will be praying for you and your daughter. My younger brother and I both had epilepsy as kids and grew out of it around puberty. I understand the scare of being the one with seizures and the one standing by wishing there was something I could do to help. Trust that you are all in God's loving arms at all times.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering what happened to your Facebook page. I'm glad you decided to do another one. Praying for you all. May the Lord continue to provide peace and healing to Miss A.
ReplyDeleteI will continue to pray for her, for lil man and also for you!! As a mother you need the strength and please don't let this shake your faith! God is big and powerful. God will never place things in your path if he thinks you cannot handle, you are strong and smart. I will pray for total and fast recovery, I will pray for all the things God feels you need and deserve right now and always. Stay strong mama, this also shall pass!
ReplyDeleteSending my love and prayers to you and little beautiful A! Her positive spirit through it all is inspiring.
ReplyDeleteI just rejoined your FB page, and don't sweat it, these things happen. FB is becoming very glitchy lately. Secondly, your baby doll is going to be alright! Keep your hands in God's hands and I'll keep you in my prayers. Best of luck.

From the age of 6 months until about 18 months, my daughter also had numerous seizures that were unexplainable. I truly know what you're going through because I myself felt helpless in the situation. Prayer truly does work and at the age of 4 my daughter hasn't experienced any further seizures. Your daughter is beautiful and you are a wonderful mother. I will continue to keep you and your family in my prayers!
ReplyDeleteI will be praying for you, A and your entire family. You have had some awesome messages on this page so far! God is good and He will be with you every step of this journey. Take comfort in His loving arms and solace in His ultimate strength. I will keep you in my prayers!
ReplyDeleteI will keep you guys in my prayers!
ReplyDeleteI've been wondering how you all were doing. I'm sorry you are going through this. There is nothing harder than dealing with health problems in a child. I pray Miss A will recover quickly and that God will continue to strengthen her.
ReplyDeleteOdd about FB, maybe it was a fluke and will come back up at some point?

I have learned so much and it makes styling much easier for my daughter and I, as well as my son's. Best of luck with your new job and keep up your awesomeness!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteYou are doing a great job taking care of yours
ReplyDeletePraying for you and Miss A my husband has suffered with epilepsy since he was nine. So I know all about that. I am so glad you are back. I was wondering what happened to your page. It help me a great deal when doing my daughters.
ReplyDeleteI love your blog and I'm glad miss A is ok. I myself have temporal lobe epilepsy and have had it all my life. Hopefully she gets a bit better as she gets old. I did. Now my staring episodes and aura type episodes are my main problem including grand mal spikes a couple times a month. I wish you and A the best and I hope her seizures decrease enough not to give her problems. As much as kids should have to go through this in the end she will be stronger for it and may one day help those like her.
