Sydney is 10 and I've left this decision up to her. She's narrowed it down to 3 choices: mohawk, small box braids, or a twist out. She doesn't have to make the decision until Sunday afternoon, but my guess is she'll decide on box braids because she can change up the style every day all by herself. Relying on mom to fix her hair every morning just isn't cool anymore at this age. :)
As far as her outfit, it's hard telling. I have a feeling she will change her mind more than once before school starts next Monday. One thing is sure, though....it will be PURPLE! :D
Hairstyle- We are currently in the second week of school here and Anisa has had box braids. I've changed them up a lot. She will keep her box braids until this weekend. I'll try to send the pics to you by this weekend. I'm not sure what I'm gonna do next. Suggestions??? Outfit- Unfortunately Anisa wears a uniform to school so I don't have anything exciting to share.
One of my girls wants a cornrow heart. One of them is undecided, but my guess is a braided mohawk. My youngest is too little for school, but she still wants in on the fun! She asked for "bead puffs" lol I'll be sure to send in pictures. Unfortunately, they have to wear uniforms (which they hate!) They can't express themselves enough. =/
my daughter is 11 and for pretty much of the summer she has been wearing two strand twists and twist outs. it's the first time we have ever tried it and she loves the look and so do i!
Hmmm well this is her first year (pre-k! Yey!!) we plan on doing the veil style with 2 puffs and blue and white accessories...she is also wearing a uniform but we"re gonna dress it up lol
I honestly do not know what I am going to do with my 6 year old's hair. She loves curls so something with braids and curls or twist and curls. As for an outfit, I will let her help me pick out some thing. I have ordered plenty of cute things for her so she has a lot to choose from. SN: We live in Japan and The Children's Place is addictive!!
My boys are in school now. They have decided on braids that end in twist for this entire school year. They love how their hair shrink to have the look of dreds. As far as clothing, they are in school uniform.
For their first day of school, my girls wore clothes from the Children's Place, had ponytails with a veil style in the front and wore bows to match their outfits. My son had clothes from Children's Place and his low hair cut. We hit up the Children's Place something fierce, so most of their outfits this school year will be from that store, lol.
Next day was Hello Kitty clothes from Target and ballerina buns with Hello Kitty hair bows, and my son had on his Shawn White clothes from Target.
The rest of this week my girls will have ballerina buns and we'll change their bows to match the clothes. My son will just kick it with his sk8ter boi clothes.
Next week my youngest wants a hairstyle that looks like an opera singer (her favorite singer is Cecilia Bartoli, yes, we are nerds here, lol) and she plans to wear big flowery dresses all week, lol. Her sisters want box braids and they'll wear dresses on their non-PE days. My son is like "just give me some shorts and a shirt, jeez." LOL
I've really been pondering this. We still have another week, and more school shopping to do, but I am thinking that Emma will wear a Children's Place outfit and possibly be rocking either two strand twists or box braids.
I hadn't give it much thought. There are some wonderful ideas here. We do uniforms as well. However, 1 area in which the children are able to express their individuality is their accessories. They are permitted to wear different colored socks and hair accessories. That's where we usually funk out & have fun. :O)
Today is our first day back and my daughter had her outfit picked out for a couple weeks. She got a demin outfit for her birthday shorts w/ matching jacket and I bought a tank top to go with. She wanted braided ponytails and picked a hairstyle out from this site. Needless to say, she is very excited about the first day back.
We haven't decided on the outfit yet but she wants me to straighten her hair. She is almost 10 and know that we don't want to use heat too often. But it's her decision and we still have 3 weeks left until school starts.
My 7-year-old, Ciara, is wearing a hot pink and leopard print top and denim skort and hot pink sandals. I've decided that I want to try Anisa's "Braids to the side w/a puff" as her hairstyle.
I think we are going to try her hair braided into a bun. She has to be to school at 7:45, mommy has to be to work at 8:30. She wants to wear a twist and curl...she's only going to pre-k so I think thats a bit much. As for clothing she has to wear white/green shirt and khaki/green pants.
Alaina either wants a cornrowed ponytail with curls or a mohawk with curls. But we haven't made any official plans yet. As for the outfit she also has to wear a uniform (white top/ blue bottoms).
My daughter is 3.5 and starting school this year. For hair I was thinking of doing a side puff right behind her ear with a flower pin in it. As for clothes, I'll let her pick but since school doesn't start for 2.5 weeks I'm going to wait and see what the weather will be like before she chooses.
She wants "braids on top with ponytail on the bottom" we can work with that. It will be her first year Kindergarten!!Yay. I ordered some stuff from children place and she loves it. I will post it at http://wildlittlerascals.blogspot.com/ later this week. We just need to get her shoes.
